Mario Badescu's Facial Spray: A review

How do we feel about facial sprays? Conflicted, or a little bored?

I don’t know about you, but my bathroom surfaces are crammed with bottles and it’s not as if I’m going to balance yet another flagon on the edge of the sink unless it’s won my respect. No room. No time. No patience.

So, when someone presented me with a bottle of Mario Badescu’s Facial Spray with aloe, chamomile and lavender, I left it in my car. Because, frankly, I couldn’t be bothered to take it inside and find a place for it.

And then, during an episode of road rage (swearing, ranting and cursing, with the window tightly shut), I reached for it. And again after a bad night (a 4am wake-up call from mad brain screening a medley of my most humiliating moments). Then after a big night (maybe a third Martini BEFORE DINNER might be a bad idea on a Tuesday, ya think?). And now… I am sold.

First of all, it’s a steal at 12 quid. Secondly, it is infused with a delicious cocktail of calming botanicals that deliver a soothing squirt of hydration and vitamin C. Thirdly, it serves to ‘fix’ newly applied make-up and to reinvigorate a flagging face eight hours later. But, most importantly, it has a lovely, refreshing, deliciously cooling sensation. Now that I have come to reach for it almost as a Pavlovian response to anything stressful, I am considering finding a place for it in the bathroom. I reckon it’s earned that now.
