Marino Franchitti in quest to find the best racing car on Three Men Four Wheels show

SCOTTISH racer Marino Franchitti is to host a brand new series, Three Men Four Wheels, alongside antiques dealer Drew Pritchard, of Salvage Hunters fame, and broadcaster Andy Jaye in a bid to find the best racing car of all time.

Available from Saturday on the new discovery+ streaming service, each week the trio will get their hands on one of the most exciting classic racing cars on Earth.

Throughout the series, they will draw up their own “greatest hits” list of the world’s finest motors ever to grace a racetrack.

With good doses of banter, history and some breathtaking driving, they will aim to win one another over with their selections.

Motoring gems featured in the series include the legendary Stovebolt Special, a truly unique car that launched the career of racing legend Sir Stirling Moss and was driven by Hollywood star Kirk Douglas in the 1955 film The Racers.

Marino, Drew and Andy also gain rare access to Ten Tenths, the private car collection of Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason.

Plus, going where cameras have never filmed before, they access the Porsche Motorsport Garage, which houses more than £100million worth of cars.

The series will also feature some of motoring’s biggest heroes and machines, including Paddy Hopkirk, who drives a replica Monte Carlo Mini, and Scots rally legend Colin McRae’s Subaru Impreza 555.

Other cars showcased are the Ferrari F40, Lotus 72, Aston Martin Ulster, Porsche 911 ST, Bugatti T35, Jaguar XJ220 and Hot Rod “Nasty Habit”.
