Mariners outfielder snags foul ball, fan’s glove at the same time

Seattle’s Domingo Santana snagged a ball out of the front row Friday night against the Angels, and came away from the play with both the ball… and an Angels fan’s glove.

Santana reached into the stands to make a play on a Jonathan Lucroy pop-up, and he tried to make the play just as a fan reached over to try and grab a souvenir. The fan made the catch, according to Santana, while Santana caught the glove.

Via MLB.com:

“I was just trying to catch the ball. I had a really good bead on it. He put his glove right between my glove. So he caught it for me, basically, and I caught his glove. I wanted that catch. I wanted that out for Marco [Gonzales].”

There was no fan interference on the play that would result in a dead ball, as Santana was reaching into the stands.

Santana also delivered at the plate, crushing two home runs against the Angels to power Seattle to a 6-2 win.
