Central Coast Mariners boss Mark Jackson is keeping the door ajar for a late move in the transfer market as his side look to strengthen their charge towards the top of the A-League Men table.

Saturday's 2-0 win over the Brisbane Roar extended the Mariners' unbeaten run to 10 games and moved them up to third spot.

The reigning ALM champions are four points adrift of table-topping Wellington Phoenix but have strengthened their squad this month by signing Brazilian winger Ronald Barcellos on loan and adding striker Ryan Edmondson.

Jackson isn't anticipating further additions but said he was keeping an open mind for the next 10 days.

"The window is still open and there's nothing that we're working on at the minute," Jackson said.

"But like anything, with the windows coming to an end sometimes things come up and you have to act quickly.

"So certainly myself and Simmo (sporting director Mat Simon), we're always alert during this period.

"And this time of the window that things quickly so we never would not shut the door just yet.

A-League Men clubs have until February 6 to confirm new signings.

Edmondson, who landed from English outfit Carlisle midway through last week, is likely to be available for next week's trip to Adelaide.

Barcellos debuted against the Roar and looked lively in a short cameo.

The winger last played a full 90 minutes in January of last year.

"His fitness levels need to go up a little bit because he was not being played as much but that's coming," Jackson said.

"It's more about his understanding of his ability with the ball and you saw little glimpses there within the game, his ability with the boys, he's got something, he's got good ability.

"What he needs to know - and we need to teach him - is how to work within our structure and our shape with the ball and and our possession as well.

"But I was pleased to have got him onto the pitch and that he could contribute to the win."
