'Marina needs to up that bid' - Chelsea fans go crazy over transfer target Said Benrahma

Few players can say that have performed better than Said Benrahma in the Championship this season.

The winger, who was signed by Brentford from French outfit Nice back in July 2018, has been outstanding in England's second-tier this term, proving key to the Bees' push for promotion to the Premier League.

The Algerian, who is 24, took his tally of league goals for the season to 17 on Saturday as he scored twice in Brentford's 3-1 victory away at Derby County, which kept them within touching distance of the top-two.

Whilst his first goal had a great deal of fortune about it, there was nothing lucky about his second of the encounter. Benrahma picked the ball up on the left-wing, cut inside onto his favoured right-foot and curled home an outstanding shot into the top corner.

It was a strike that any player at any level of the game would have been proud of and it once again highlighted as to why he is a man with a growing list of admirers.

Amongst the clubs chasing his signature ahead of the opening of the summer transfer window are Chelsea, with a report by the Express last week claiming that the Blues were showing a great amount of interest in the winger, who is valued at £22.5million.

And after his stunning hit against Derby on Saturday, Chelsea's supporters took to Twitter to plead with the club's hierarchy to seal a deal for Benrahma, who has also claimed nine assists in the Championship this season.

Here is what some Blues fans had to say on Twitter...

When analysing Benrahma's stats it is easy to understand why Chelsea's supporters would be so keen on the club signing him.

In total, he has netted 17 league goals this season, including six in his last six games.

Whilst the stats make great viewing, it is also worth highlighting that a whole host of fans who follow Championship clubs consider him as the best player in the league right now.
