Marina Granovskaia told why Chelsea must sign wonderkid as Kai Havertz prediction is made

Here's all the news from around Stamford Bridge over the past 24 hours.

Abraham explains new signings slow start

Chelsea made a host of new signings in the summer transfer window, and some of them are taking their time to settle into life at Stamford Bridge.

Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Kai Havertz, Edouard Mendy, Ben Chilwell and Thiago Silva all arrived at the Blues ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Blues striker Tammy Abraham believes it's completely normal that the new players - five taken from foreign countries - are taking their time to adapt to life in the Premier League.

Abraham said to Chelsea's official website: "We have hardly had any time to train together and to work out how each other play so we’re just taking every day as it comes at the moment.

"Every game we play, we’re learning new things about each other. I’m starting to understand them more and they’re starting to understand me more so hopefully we drive each other and be the best we can be."

Lampard already has midfield answer

Chelsea take on Morecambe on Sunday in the FA Cup third round and it could be the perfect chance for Billy Gilmour to showcase his talents once again.

Gilmour has hardly featured since returning from injury last month, but the cup tie against League Two opposition could be a chance for the Scot to force his way back into Frank Lampard 's plans.

The 19-year-old was fantastic for the Blues towards the latter stages of the 2019/20 season - most notably, producing a man of the match display in Chelsea's FA Cup win over Liverpool at the beginning of March.

The teenager then produced a similar performance against Everton a few days later, with his talent really shining in the Blues' midfield.

Expert on what to expect from Caicedo

Moises Caicedo - who has been linked with a move to Chelsea recently - and the reported transfer target is already 'the genuine article', according to South American football expert Tim Vickery.

The Blues are reportedly in a race with Manchester United for his signature this month and Vickery has outlined what supporters could expect from the 19-year-old if he does move to Stamford Bridge.

The football expert drew comparisons to former Manchester City midfielder Colin Bell, who tragically passed away earlier this week, aged 74.

“I don’t want to say that Moises Caicedo is going to be as good as Colin Bell," Vickery told Sky Sports.“But Moises Caicedo is in that kind of mould - he’s a terrific athlete who makes football look easy.

“He’s a box-to-box midfielder. A year ago he was saying that Kante of Chelsea was his role model. He’s already more than that - he offers more in the final third than that.

“That kind of box-to-box midfielder which is very much in the tradition of the English game - strong, quick, intelligent, cool. He really does look like the genuine article.”
