Marina Granovskaia told when she can complete the first of three key Chelsea transfer decisions

Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger has confirmed that he wants to sit down and hold talks with the Blues' hierarchy about his future at the club following the conclusion of this summer's European Championships.

Rudiger has been one of the biggest winners of Thomas Tuchel's arrival at Stamford Bridge, seeing his Blues career revitalised since his fellow countryman succeeded Frank Lampard towards the end of January.

The German has been in outstanding form and has played a key role in the Blues' run to the UEFA Champions League final, which will see them travel to Porto on Saturday evening to face Manchester City.

However, Chelsea could face a turbulent summer in regards to Rudiger's future, as his current form means that he is bound to attract interest from an array of clubs, especially when he is now very close to entering the final year of his contract.

But Tuchel wants to keep hold of him and Rudiger wants to stay, meaning a solution should be easily reached. However, the defender has made it clear that doesn't want to hold any talks until this summer's delayed Euro 2020 has taken place.

Ahead of the match, Rudiger was asked about Tuchel’s comments and his future at the club.

Rudiger told Kicker: "You always make your decisions to some extent dependent on the coaching staff, but in the long term you can never rely on them anyway.

"After the European Championships, we can talk."

Earlier this month, Tuchel heaped praise on Rudiger's shoulders for the way he has gone about trying to earn a new contract, hailing his recent performances.

"Nothing is better than what he is doing for a new contract," Tuchel said. "If he wants to have a new contract he has our full support to stay at the club.

"He is speaking with his performances. He has been amazing since day one."

Rudiger is one of three key Chelsea defenders out-of-contract at Stamford Bridge in just over 12 months time, with Cesar Azpilicueta, who was sent off during Sunday's Premier League defeat to Aston Villa, and Andreas Christensen both seeing their current deals come to an end in the summer of 2022.
