Marina Granovskaia told her next Chelsea transfer mission after what happened vs Man City

Chelsea will be eager to move on from their 1-0 defeat to Manchester City as soon as possible but an injury blow to Reece James means the effects will be felt for a while yet.

The right-back limped off after 28 minutes having rolled his ankle following a challenge from England teammate Jack Grealish. Thiago Silva replaced him but could not deny a second-half goal from Gabriel Jesus.

It was an uninspiring display from Thomas Tuchel's men with Pep Guardiola setting his side out to press intensely and it worked a treat with Chelsea unable to break through and involve Romelu Lukaku too much in the game.

An update from doctor and sports scientist Rajpal Brar on Twitter suggested that the type of ankle injury suffered by James often sees players ruled out for between four and six weeks.

It is a piece of news that has not gone down very well with Chelsea fans on social media. James is a massively popular figure among the Stamford Bridge faithful, providing a real creative threat down the right-hand side.

Chelsea remain joint top of the Premier League table but with Liverpool still to play their weekend fixture that could well change by the end of the weekend.

With James injured, many fans have pointed to the decision to sell promising academy graduate Tino Livramento to Southampton in the summer. Plenty have even called on the club's transfer chief Marina Granovskaia to activate the buy-back option as soon as possible, which is understood to be around the £25million mark.

Here is the best of the reaction from Twitter.
