Marina Granovskaia sent Ben Chilwell transfer message from Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers insists the Foxes are not worried about the growing interest in left-back Ben Chilwell.

The Foxes left-back has established himself as one of the Premier League's most established left-backs over the past few seasons, which has sparked interest from some of England's elite in his services.

Amongst those to hold a strong interest in the 23-year-old are Chelsea, with Blues head coach Frank Lampard understood to be desperate to add Chilwell to his ranks in an attempt to bolster the left-back berth ahead of next season.

This term, Lampard, who guided his side to a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa in their first game back following the coronavirus shutdown on Sunday, has often flicked between using Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri at left-back, meaning he is on the hunt for a permanent choice for that position.

And football.london understands that Chilwell is Lampard's main target when it comes to bolstering that position.

Though Chelsea, who have already sealed the signings of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner ahead of the new campaign, are desperate to add Chilwell to their ranks, it looks as though they face a stern battle to secure his signature, with Foxes boss Rodgers, who will be hoping to lead his side to a top-four finish come the end of the campaign, insisting that Leicester will not give up easily in their fight to retain the England star.

"The club have got good experience of situations where bigger the so-called bigger clubs come in," Rodgers told Sky Sports. "We're always aware that while there are good players, that will always be of interest to other teams that have more money than us.

"We don't lose sleep worrying about it. We're here to develop players and improve the standard of the team. Of course, if we're doing that then that will be taken note of by other clubs."

This season, Chilwell, who scored a sublime goal during Leicester's 1-1 draw with Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday lunchtime, has been one of the King Power Stadium club's best performers, chipping in with three goals and registering three assists from left-back.
