Chelsea may have been dealt a blow as far as their deadline day plans are concerned.
The Blues have been tipped to continue their spending spree with a late bid for West Ham star Declan Rice.
But having spent well over £200million over the course of the summer, it's thought they will need to offload players if they want to make a late run for Rice.
A number of players have been linked with exits, and Marcos Alonso is one of those following the arrival of Ben Chilwell at left-back and a bust-up with manager Frank Lampard after his disastrous performance in the draw with West Brom.
But Alonso could now be set to stay put with formerly interested party Inter Milan declaring they will not make a move for Alonso before Monday night's deadline.
Inter's CEO Giuseppe Marotta told DAZN: “We’re not going to sign Marcos Alonso on the deadline day."
Alonso, of course, could still depart, particularly with Chelsea having plenty of cover at left-back between Chilwell and Emerson Palmieri.
Though, time is running out and Chelsea are looking for a permanent deal, which could limit options so late on in the window.
Alonso has three years remaining on his current deal having penned a new contract in 2018.
