Marina Granovskaia is ready to complete three transfers as Chelsea's perfect squad takes shape

Chelsea's ambitious summer transfer window continues to take shape, with reports that the Blues are ready to complete deals for three players as soon as next week.

The Blues' fourth place finish in the Premier League last season provided Blues boss Frank Lampard reason for optimism and delivered the financial springboard of Champions League football.

But the fashion in which the season ended for the west Londoners in the FA Cup and Champions League has already led to Lampard admitting that he needs to strengthen his squad this summer to compete with Europe's elite.

Speaking after the Blues' 4-1 defeat to Bayern Munich, Lampard told BT Sport: "We will look at that. We have worked at it already.

"From having a transfer ban you feel the fact that other clubs have spent and improved and recruitment is a big part of this game.

"When you look through this team, nights like tonight in a footballing sense, show me a lot.

"The season has ended. It is a very quick turnaround but now is the time to see what areas we can improve.

"But it is our job to go away and see what happens and see if we can improve.

"In a football sense I feel like I know where we can and now it is time to look at that."

And Chelsea have been busy eyeing reinforcements in recent weeks to add to the two signings they have already made in the form of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech.

Talks to sign Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz have been ongoing for several weeks, with the Blues attempting to reach an agreement on the fee.

Personal terms are not thought to be a problem, but Leverkusen are reportedly standing firm until their valuation of the midfielder is met.

Chelsea boss Lampard is also keen to add quality to his backline, with a new left-back a priority.

Ajax’s Nicolas Tagliafico, Atalanta’s Robin Gosens and Real Madrid's Sergio Reguilon have all been linked but Leicester City's Ben Chilwell is understood to be Lampard's first choice signing.

And according to widespread reports, Chelsea are close to sealing a deal for the England international after a breakthrough in negotiations with the Foxes.

Chilwell's arrival could be backed up with the imminent signing of Havertz - and also Thiago Silva - as soon as next week, according to Sky Sport in Italy.

A new centre-back is on also on Chelsea's wishlist, with Lampard aware of the need to strengthen his back four after the high profile defeats in recent months.

And Silva has reportedly been offered to the Blues, with his contract at Paris Saint-Germain expiring at the end of the season.

The Brazilian centre-back is set to depart the French champions after the club's Champions League final against Bayern Munich on Sunday.

And according to The Telegraph, Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign the defender on a free transfer.

Fiorentina and former side AC Milan have also been linked with a move for the 35-year-old, but a move to the Premier League could present an intriguing option for the player.
