Marina Granovskaia has already revealed one of her next Chelsea tasks amid transfer admission

The agent of Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has suggested that Marina Granovskaia has already revealed her intentions to extend his deal at Stamford Bridge.

The former Napoli man has been in excellent form for the Blues over the past few seasons having played a key role in the club’s Champions League success.

Meanwhile, Jorginho has also been a key performer for his national team having won Euro 2020 with Italy - an achievement that has seen him emerge as one of the candidates for the Ballon d’Or come the end of the year.

Despite his considerable standing within Thomas Tuchel’s squad, that has not halted rumours of the Italian departing Stamford Bridge, with former club Napoli potentially emerging as the most likely candidates for his signature.

His agent, Joao Santos, has admitted that a return to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona could be on the cards in the future but Blues’ director Marina Granovskaia has already expressed her intentions to extend Jorginho’s stint in west London.

Talking to 1 Football Club, he said: “Never say never [to Jorginho returning to Napoli], because the market is very dynamic. [Chelsea director] Marina Granovskaia, however, has already let us know that she wants to renew his contract, so we’ll see what happens.”

The Italian’s current deal runs until the summer of 2023 so there is no rush for the Blues to get his future secured immediately.

Nevertheless, the player himself has admitted that a return to his former club could be among his future ambitions later on in his career.

Talking to Sky Italia in April, he said: “"When you live in Naples you can never forget.

"I had a wonderful experience and I am very fond of the city and the fans.

"Now, honestly I'm not thinking about it because my concentration is all on Chelsea, but if there is the possibility, one day, to return, of course I'd like it."

Since joining Chelsea in 2018, Jorginho has gone on to make 156 appearances in all competitions, scoring 20 goals.
