Marina Granovskaia has a new Chelsea transfer mission to complete after Kai Havertz deal

Chelsea may have already strengthened their attack in the transfer window, but head coach Frank Lampard is also reportedly keen to reinforce his back line.

The Blues have already confirmed deals to sign striker Timo Werner and playmaker Hakim Ziyech from RB Leipzig and Ajax respectively.

A deal to bring Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz to Stamford Bridge is also underway, as football.london understands Chelsea are willing to meet the Bundesliga side's asking price.

But according to ESPN, Chelsea boss Lampard has lost patience with first choice goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and once the Havertz is completed, the Blues will turn their attention to signing a new number one.

Manchester United's Dean Henderson has been linked, with the Blues reportedly ready to double the England under-21 international's wages in order to lure him from Old Trafford.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper has enjoyed a highly successful two years on loan at Sheffield United, playing a key part in their promotion to the Premier League - and this season, their surprise challenge for European places.

Henderson's contract at Manchester United runs out in 2022, but according to  The MEN, the player is only willing to return to Old Trafford if he is assured of a first team place, rather than to compete with David de Gea.

Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak is also thought to be a target for Lampard, and Atleti boss Diego Simeone previously refused to rule out a move when asked about his goalkeeper's future by  Cadena SER  .

Simeone said: "It is normal that they want a goalkeeper of the characteristics and value that Oblak has and it doesn’t surprise me because he is very good.

"For us, he is decisive, very important in the dressing room, he is our captain.

"Year after year he has managed to evolve in all the matches, from goalkeeper to his handling with the group, and hopefully he can continue with us.

"It is normal to always look for the best, and we have many who are very good, some previous seasons have left, others have stayed, and it is logical and normal for a footballer like Oblak to be loved by anyone.

"For us, he is our captain, an important player year after year and hopefully we can continue to count on his work, which is enormous for Atlético de Madrid."
