Jeremie Boga could play a major role in the business Chelsea plan to do during the summer transfer window.
The winger, who joined Sassuolo for £2.7m a couple of years ago, is said to be attracting interest from several clubs from around Europe as well as Premier League side Everton.
According to Sky Sports, the Toffees reportedly want to sign the 23-year-old who is likely to cost in the region of £35million.
In addition, the report states that Carlo Ancelotti has long been an admirer of Boga and is keen to bring him to Goodison Park – but faces competition from the likes of Napoli, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen.
A return to Stamford Bridge was mooted earlier in the season amid confirmation from Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevalli that the Blues could resign Boga for €15m (£12.7m).
However, the Guardian revealed that Boga would not be returning to west London this summer.
This is because the aforementioned report claimed Chelsea were instead negotiating with the Serie A outfit to include a sell-on clause for the Ivory Coast international, who is likely to be sold this summer.
Boga to Everton is a scenario that would boost Frank Lampard's transfer budget as the Blues would be entitled to a percentage of any fee Sassuolo receive.
It remains to be seen what the details are in regards to the sell-on clause, but given Boga's form this season it's wouldn't be a shock if Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia attempted to negotiate the best deal possible.
Of course, any windfall could be used to help fund a deal for Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Kai Havertz.
football.london understands a move is on the brink of being completed as the Germany international Havertz wants to have put pen to paper on a contract at Stamford Bridge by next week, according to a report by Sky Sports.
With that said the transfer fee itself is proving to be the hold up.
Initially, Chelsea did not want to go any higher than £70million for the Havertz and it appears Leverkusen would be willing to accept that fee up front, as long as there are add-ons in the contract to take the full price up towards the £90million mark.
Similar to deals for Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, could a move for Havertz be effectively helped be funded by a future windfall thanks to Boga?
