Marina Granovskaia 'favourite' to complete £100m transfer ahead of Man City

Chelsea are reportedly amongst the favourites to sign Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish this summer.

The Blues have been apparent admirers for a while, with Thomas Tuchel seemingly keen to spend big on his team despite Chelsea’s UEFA Champions League victory last season.

They are set to face competition though, with Manchester City and Manchester United have also been strongly linked in the past.

However, the Blues appear to have moved ahead of the pack as per reports in the Spanish media.

According to Fichajes, Chelsea are “favourites” to sign him this summer having fully recovered from the knee injury that kept him out of action for large swaths of the previous campaign.

He still had a very productive season despite that though having racked up seven goals and ten assists in all competitions for Aston Villa.

That form has seen him earn a place in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the Euros and he will certainly hope to have had enough of an impact to start against Croatia at Wembley Stadium this afternoon.

The 25-year-old is rated at £58.5m by transfermarkt but it is expected that Villa would ask for much more for their star player, with our friends at the Mirror reporting that Villa had whacked a £100million price tag on the England man's shoulders.

Grealish is also under contract for another four years until 2025 having only penned a new deal in September of last year.

That would certainly mean that Dean Smith’s men are under no pressure to sell this summer but the news that Chelsea are now the favourites will of course be a big boost to the Blues’ chances of securing him at some point in the future.
