Here is your Chelsea morning digest for Sunday, July 4.
Rice warned against Blues move
West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice may wish to think twice about the prospect of joining Chelsea this summer because of head coach Thomas Tuchel's approach with his midfield.
That is according to Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend, who believes Rice may be better accustomed to joining Manchester United.
The Blues are desperate to sign a new central-midfielder this summer and Rice is believed to be at the very top of the club's wish list, despite the Hammers asking for around £100million for his signature.
Townsend, in part, said: "Chelsea's different because I think at Chelsea they like their holding midfielders to be ball-playing.
"I think Kante's kind of broken into that team under [Thomas] Tuchel towards the end of the season, so it's Kante and a ball-player in a [Mateo] Kovacic or a Jorginho.
"So I don't see where, unless one of those players leaves, I don't see where he'd fit in there."

Marina Granovskaia's masterplan
Although Chelsea are yet to add any new faces to the squad this summer, it cannot be denied that the Blues are not working hard behind the scenes.
Head coach Thomas Tuchel, alongside director Marina Granovskaia, is working hard to pinpoint his top targets and get deals over the line as soon as possible.
It is understood that the Blues are chasing at least four new additions to strengthen the right side of the defence, the centre-back berth, the centre of midfield and up front.
Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland is understood to be the club's top target, while both Adama Traore of Wolverhampton Wanderers and Rice remain on their radar.
