Marina Granovskaia and Chelsea can save £80m this summer by moving for Ben Chilwell alternative

Frank Lampard has already started his Chelsea rebuild following the addition of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax.

With the Moroccan international signing on the dotted line in February, it now appears that RB Leipzig frontman Timo Werner will be the next to follow in west London.

There is also talk that fellow German international Kai Havertz could also arrive in a big-money move from Bayer Leverkusen.

That won't be it in terms of summer additions for Lampard as he is keen on addressing his issue at left-back.

Alasdair Gold's Spurs Q&A on transfers, friendlies and the Premier League

Both Emerson Palmieri and Marcos Alonso have been in and out of the team this season and the boss wants someone who can make the position his own week in, week out.

Leicester City's Ben Chilwell is the club's first choice to fill the role but the Foxes are holding out for around £80m for the England international.

While the Blues will be doing all they can to drive that price down as they look to splash the cash on other players, the Express report that Lampard could instead target Paris Saint-Germain defender Layvin Kurzawa.

The Frenchman, who was linked with a move to Arsenal in January, will be available on a free transfer this summer due to the expiration of his contract and he would be a shrewd addition for the Europa League holders.

The 27-year-old has bags of experience having played in Ligue 1 for both Monaco and PSG, with the defender also representing France on 13 occasions.

Another benefit to moving for Kurzawa is that he can also play as a left wing-back or on the left of midfield if needed.

It is reported that the player has turned down a move to Inter Milan as he is intent on sealing a Premier League move ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.
