Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho has been the subject of speculation over the last few months.
The England international has impressed for both club and country this season. The 20-year-old has scored 14 goals and provided 16 assists in 23 Bundesliga games in 2019/20 including five goals in his last eight games.
Chelsea were linked with the youngster during the January transfer window, but a move never materialised.
The Blues are though likely to reignite their interest in the player when the summer window opens but they will face competition for the Dortmund man with Manchester United and Liverpool among the other teams linked with a move for the England man.
Reports on Tuesday suggested that Manchester United were confident of completing a move, but according to SportBild (via Sportwitness ), Chelsea are pushing hard in the race for the winger as Frank Lampard looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.
The Chelsea boss has already added one player to his squad, with Ajax winger Hakim Ziyech joining the club when the window opens at the end of the season.
And the report that Sancho could be joining him at Stamford Bridge has caused excitement among Chelsea fans on social media.
However, it is also stated that the coronavirus pandemic could have an impact on any move for the player due to the financial effect of the suspension of football.
All Premier League fixtures have been suspended until at least April 30th due to the outbreak, although that date is likely to be extended again.
There is also still uncertainty about how the summer transfer window will work due to the likelihood of the Premier League season running into the summer.
