Marilyn Manson says he will act in an upcoming TV adaptation of Stephen King’s The Stand.
The musician mentioned the novel in an interview with Revolver, in which he discussed his current projects.
“[Musician Shooter Jennings] and I also did a cover of “The End” by the Doors, for a new miniseries of The Stand by Stephen King, which I’m also going to be acting in,” Manson – real name Brian Warner – said.
CBS All Access announced in January that it had ordered a 10-episode series based on King’s post-apocalyptic novel.
No official cast announcement has been made by the network yet. CBS All Access declined to comment when contacted by The Independent.
The Stand has been described by CBS as “a haunting apocalyptic vision of a world decimated by plague and embroiled in an elemental struggle between good and evil”.
“In this world, the fate of mankind rests on the frail shoulders of the 108-year-old Mother Abagail and a handful of survivors, with their worst nightmares embodied in a man with a lethal smile and unspeakable powers: Randall Flagg, the Dark Man,” reads the network’s description.
King said in January he was “excited and so very pleased” at the prospect of the new adaptation, which is being directed by Josh Boone.
