Mariella Frostrup

Mariella Frostrup has firmly established herself at the top end of opinion forming journalists and TV presenters in the UK. Defying any attempt to pigeonhole her skills and talents, Mariella has made her mark on a wide variety of programmes and is a regular columnist for a variety of broadsheets and magazines. On television in a twenty year career she has continued to impress both audiences and critics with her friendly, accessible and intelligent screen presence. Her projects run the gamut from current affairs to movies and the arts.

Mariella currently presents The Book Show for Sky Arts and Open Book for Radio Four. Recent projects include The Young Ones for BBC1; the primetime series which challenged the way we think about ageing, Bringing Up Britain; the Radio Four series which looks at modern parenting and Blonde On Blonde for Radio Two; exploring the lives of blonde Hollywood icons.

Mariella combines her television and radio career with that of a prolific journalist. She is currently the film critic for Harper's Bazaar and has a weekly dilemma column in The Observer Magazine for whom she also writes major interviews.

Mariella is also a respected arts critic and has sat on the judging panels of various awards including The Booker Prize, the Orange Prize for Fiction, the Evening Standard Film Awards, the Turner Prize, the Amnesty International Media Awards, the London Film Festival and the RIBA Stirling Prize Awards.
