Celtic flop Marian Shved was denied a loan move to Spain because the Hoops want him to speak English, according to a Ukrainian team-mate.
The winger has made just three appearances for Celtic since joining the club for £2m last year as one of Brendan Rodgers' last signings.
A five minute cameo appearance against Clyde in the Scottish Cup this year was his first sighting in the Hoops since October and he's failed to make any kind of impression.
And he could have moved to Spanish second tier side Deportivo Lugo in January but his lack of English scuppered those chances.
Last month, he admitted he had struggled to get a game at Celtic because his team mates were too good and he accepted his position as a fringe player.
He's attracted interest from clubs in his homeland, but Lugo's Ukrainian defender Vasyl Kravets has revealed the Spanish Second Division side tried to get Shved on loan.
He said: "Marian almost signed for us on loan in the last transfer window. He was happy to come here.
"But Celtic blocked the move. They wanted him to sign for a team that was closer to Glasgow.
"He would only be allowed to move to a team where he could communicate in English, so the deal was off."
