Marian Shved completes Celtic transfer exit as winger joins KV Mechelen on permanent deal

Lesser-seen winger Marian Shved has left Celtic to join KV Mechelen on a permanent deal.

The Ukrainian has penned a contract with the Belgian Jupiler Pro League side until 2024.

Shved spent last season on-loan with Mechelen and despite a slow start, eventually established himself in boss Wouter Vrancken's side.

Vrancken has been pushing hard to sign the 24-year-old this summer and finally got his man on Friday.

Celtic marked his departure with a short message on their official Twitter account.

It said: "Best of luck to Marian Shved who joins @kvmechelen on a permanent deal."

Shved was signed during the latter stages of the Brendan Rodgers era at Celtic but rarely looked like making the grade at Parkhead.

A Champions League qualifying striker against minnows Nomme Kalju was his only goal in a green and white shirt.

His last Celtic appearance came under Neil Lennon in a Scottish Cup tie against Clyde in February 2020.
