Margot Robbie knows a thing or two about red carpet fashion, as she proved on Sunday night by wearing an haute coutureChanel gown to the BAFTAs that reportedly took 690 hours to make.
The slim-fitting dress is comprised of 157,000 elements in total, including sequins, pearls and precious stones.
The design is one of the luxury French fashion house’s signature styles, using a paillette effect on the torso and a tulle material on the skirt that creates a mermaid-like silhouette.
It made its runway debut just a few weeks ago in Paris and looked no less opulent gliding through the Grand Palais in Paris as part of Haute Couture Week than it did on the Australian actor at the Royal Albert Hall.
As if the dazzling gown wasn’t enough, Robbie accessorised the look with a pair of sparkling silver earrings and two 19-karat white gold rings, all from Chanel.
While she kept things simple on the hair front, opting for a slicked-back updo, the 28-year-old chose a more dramatic beauty look, lining her eyes with electric blue eyeshadow.
Though Robbie didn’t take home an award on the night – she was nominated for best supporting actress for her role in Mary Queen of Scots, which was awarded to Rachel Weisz – she was certainly among those to earn an accolade for being the best-dressed attendee.
