Marcus Smart fined $50,000 for shoving 76ers center Joel Embiid

Per multiple reports, Boston Celtics shooting guard Marcus Smart has been fined $50,000 for shoving Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid in the third quarter of Wednesday’s loss to their Eastern Conference rival.

Smart has been fined three times this season, and the hefty sum of the fine he received on Thursday was certainly effected by what the league has called “repeated acts of unsportsmanlike conduct.”

Smart was fined $25,000 in October for shoving Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard J.R. Smith in the back and $35,000 in January for attempting to start a fight with Atlanta Hawks shooting guard DeAndre’ Bembry. Nonetheless, despite Smart’s multiple infractions, he avoided a suspension from the league.

Next time, however, Smart may not be so lucky.
