Marcus Rashford trains with former Man Utd teammate as other stars head to Carrington

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford has been training with a member of the club's staff at Altrincham's Moss Lane.

The striker has not played since limping off on January 15 but is preparing to return to Carrington.

When players return to United's training base they will have to undergo Covid-19 tests with small group training set to begin.

Rashford was training at the non-league stadium with former team-mate and now Shrewsbury player Ro-Shaun Williams.

The 22-year-old has posted home workouts as he was forced to rehab in his own home.

But during the last fortnight he has been at Carrington working on his back after suffering a double stress fracture.

Several of Rashford's team-mates have also been spotted at a local park putting themselves through their paces.

Paul Pogba, Andreas Pereira, Anthony Martial and Victor Lindelof all got together on Thursday.

Luke Shaw and Daniel James then followed suit 24 hours later.

United have installed drive-thru testing stations in their training ground car park to accommodate the return of players.

Each member of the squad was given a time slot on Sunday so that they could be tested.

Testing is being done in line with the Premier League's guidelines although discussions are still taking place about how to move forward.

Project Restart is hoping to have games back underway by June with 92 fixtures still remaining.

United are still eyeing a Champions League berth and boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hopes to have a fully fit squad to pick from.

"Of course we're trying to improve all the time, develop as a team, and now we've got a full squad to choose from, and hopefully we've been looking after ourselves in the two months that we've been out," he said.

"We just have to play it by ear and hope they click early. But let's get back to training first and then hopefully we can play soon."
