Marcus Rashford sends message to Liverpool and Man City after Manchester United's nine-goal rout

Marcus Rashford insists Manchester United aren’t going to be distracted by what rivals Liverpool and Manchester City are doing in the Premier League title race.

United drew level on points with City at the top of the table following their 9-0 thrashing of Southampton last night.

But the emphatic victory was still not enough for them to displace their neighbours, who have two games in hand, at the summit on goal difference.

City return to action at Burnley tonight while third-placed Liverpool are also in action at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.

But Rashford maintains that the Red Devils are only concentrating on their own results.

The Mirror quote him as telling BT Sport: “We have to not look at them and just focus on ourselves.

“We’re a team that’s still improving, we’re not a team that’s been a ready-made team for the last two or three years.

“I think we’re just getting there now and we’re still learning a lot as a group so we have to concentrate on ourselves and keep working on improving ourselves."

Liverpool and Manchester City – who have won the last three Premier League titles between them – meet at Anfield on Sunday.
