Marcus Rashford returns to Manchester United training after injury

Marcus Rashford has returned to Manchester United training following shoulder surgery.

United forward went under the knife in the summer following his participation at Euro 2020 with England as they reached a first major final since 1966, before losing on penalties to Italy.

Rashford had surgery on a shoulder problem that bothered him throughout most of the previous campaign, causing him to struggle with movement and training towards the end of the season especially.

Despite the injury he picked up 21 goals and 15 assists in all competitions but he made the decision to undergo surgery despite missing 12 weeks in recovery at the start of the season to be able to get fully healthy once again and help the team once more.

United released a video on Wednesday of the 23-year-old returning to training with the club, albeit separate from the group and just going through light jogging and some short passing drills.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer greeted him upon his arrival, with Rashford seemingly just describing what he was going to be doing with the coaching staff during the day.

He also showed some fancy footwork with a ball once again and United fans will be desperate to see him back on the pitch despite a good start to the season.

United opened their campaign with a 5-1 win over Leeds at Old Trafford before being held to a 1-1 draw against Southampton at St Mary's in the following game. Rashford is expected to return to first-team action at the end of September or early October, and he'll be competing for a starting place alongside the likes of Paul Pogba and Jadon Sancho on the wings.
