Marcus Rashford picks his favourite Manchester United goal

Marcus Rashford admits he's never replicated the feeling of scoring his first goal for Manchester United, after naming the strike against FC Midtjylland as the favourite of his club career.

Rashford only started that Europa League tie after Anthony Martial suffered an injury in the warm-up, but the Wythenshawe-born forward scored twice, in the 63rd and 75th minutes, to help United to a 5-1 win.

That double launched his United career and he continued on the same trajectory three days later with another double, this time in the Premier League against Arsenal.

But it's the first of his 64 goals - and counting - for United that Rashford remembers most fondly, with the fact he was scoring on his debut for his boyhood club making it all the more special.

“You know, every other goal after that, it's not quite the same as that first goal,“ he told the United website.

“I just felt grateful, really, to have the opportunity to play for the club and to be able to score goals like the one on my debut.”

In terms of his favourite moments as a team, Rashford named the 2016 victory over Everton in the FA Cup semi-final as one of his most enjoyable matches, as well as the victory over Crystal Palace in the final that followed, which earned him his first senior medal in football.

“There's obviously a few moments. I'd say the FA Cup final, when we won it in 2016 [against Crystal Palace]. That was one of the standout moments, because it was the first trophy,” he said.

“I actually joined the campaign sort of midway through the FA Cup, so it was nice. I started the season in the Youth Cup and finished it by winning the FA Cup. So it was a nice feeling.”
