Marcus Rashford outlines changes he's made to trigger Man Utd improvement

Marcus Rashford has revealed that improving his strength has played a key role in his stunning Manchester United form this season.

Rashford scored in United's 2-1 win over champions Manchester City at the weekend to take his tally to 10 league goals for the season, already equalling his best return in the top flight midway through the campaign.

Indeed, the 22-year-old England international has 13 goals in his last 14 games for club and country in what is arguably the best spell of his career so far.

And, in an interview with Gary Lineker's Goalhanger Films , the Red Devils superstar has revealed the small changes he's made to his game.

"Just little stuff like, for me holding off defenders is a big one," he said.

"It's something I speak about quite often a lot with my brothers who see me play.

"I feel like this season I'm doing little stuff that shows it's becoming a bit more natural and easier."

Rashford has previously been criticised for a perceived lack of composure in front of goal but he is flourishing under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who scored 126 goals in 366 appearances as a player for United.

And the striker has admitted that he enjoys leading the line for United.

"I want to be able to play in all positions," added Rashford. "No.9 is obviously the dream but for me in this day and age, it's ideal to be as effective out wide as you are in the No.9.

"If Man United are playing the football that Man United can play, the forwards are making runs. The first thing [Solskjaer] has done is bring the attacking intent straight back into the team.

"The way we train and prepare for games, it's about what we can do to hurt defences, what we can do. We do speak about the opposition threats, but the first thing he says is about how we can score goals. Mentally that gives you a big push going into games."
