Marcus Rashford names his dream Manchester United six a-side team

Marcus Rashford picked David de Gea, Rio Ferdinand, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo in a dream Manchester United six a-side team.

Rashford was actually asked for his dream five a-side line up made up from United players past and present - but named one extra player, while refusing to name himself.

The United striker, who has recently revealed he is contributing to charity FareShare - to help children in Manchester who would normally be given free school means - spoke to Bleacher Football via an Instagram Q & A and explained his selections.

"Right, I'm going to go with most players from the teams that I watched when I was growing up," Rashford began.

"So at the back I'd have Rio Ferdinand. In net I'd have De Gea, but it's a close one between him and [Edwin] Van der Sar.

"When I was a kid Van der Sar was one of the best keepers and obviously playing with David has been great, so I'd have to put David in there.

"Then I'm all-out attack from there. I'd have Scholesy in front of Rio, I'd have Giggs on the right Ronaldo on the left and Rooney up front - I'm not putting myself in."

Rashford was also asked his top three players of all time and named Lionel Messi and Diego Maradona alongside former United man - and his boyhood idol - Ronaldo.

He also named Rooney was the best player he'd played alongside, adding: "Him and Ronaldo were my two favourite players growing up, so to get an opportunity to play with him was an unbelievable experience. It's just the little things he does throughout games that makes him a special player.

"I was watching him quite closely [as a youngster at United] because there was a period when he was playing as a No.9, but at the beginning of the season he was playing quite deeper.

"It was just the way he transitioned between the positions like it's nothing. That what makes him a world class player."
