Manchester United have been left to sweat on the fitness of Marcus Rashford after he was forced off with a shoulder injury during their 3-1 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.

Rashford walked straight to the Old Trafford dressing rooms after being replaced by Paul Pogba in the 74th minute of his side's penultimate Group H match.

United return to Premier League action away to play West Ham in Saturday's teatime kick-off and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted that Rashford is carrying a shoulder problem.

"It's a niggling shoulder injury," Solskjaer told BT Sport after the final whistle. "Let's see how quickly he can recover. Hopefully he will be ready for the West Ham game."

Rashford withdrew from Gareth Southgate's England squad during the November international break without playing in the climax of the Nations League campaign.

Solskjaer is already having to contend with the possibility of Rashford's United team-mate Edinson Cavani receiving a three-match ban for an offensive social media post.

United travel to play RB Leipzig next Tuesday for their final Champions League group game knowing that they need to avoid defeat in order to guarantee progress to the knockout stages.
