Marcus Rashford makes Man Utd claim after battling Sheffield Utd draw

Marcus Rashford claims Manchester United proved their fight with their battling comeback against Sheffield United on Sunday.

United looked beaten when the Blades deservedly led 2-0 before Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side blitzed them with three goals in seven minutes to turn the game on its head.

Although Oli McBurnie scored a last-minute equaliser to deny United victory at Bramall Lane, Rashford was delighted with their spirit.

“We know that we didn’t play well enough in the first half,” said the England striker, who netted United’s third to take his tally to 10 in his last 11 games for club and country.

“But we managed to find it inside us to get back into the game and get in a good, strong position in the game.

“It’s important that we understand the bigger picture and the current situation we’re in and show the fight that we did.

“Credit to the team and to the manager and to the fans, it was a good spell to get back into the game.”

Teenagers Brandon Williams and Mason Greenwood bagged United’s first two goals to spark their fightback and Rashford was delighted with the pair.

Full-back Williams, 19, scored his first United goal on his eighth appearance, while Greenwood, 18, netted his first Premier League strike for the Reds.

Rashford claims they are proper United players because the academy products understand the club’s attacking philosophy.

“For Brandon, he’s done brilliantly since he’s come up with us,” he said. “Obviously for Mason, for any forward, it’s beautiful to score a goal.

“All they know is how to attack and play forward-thinking football. You can see with the way they attack they just bring that into their game and that is Man United.”
