Marcus Rashford issues Manchester United injury update ahead of Tottenham fixture

Marcus Rashford says he is fully fit and eager to carry on where he left off when Manchester United return to Premier League action later this month.

The England international has been sidelined since January through injury and would have missed the remainder of the season had the coronavirus pandemic not postponed action for over three months.

Prior to his injury Rashford had been enjoying a terrific season at Old Trafford which has seen him net 19 goals in 31 appearances in all competitions.

The 22-year-old will be in contention to start when United face Tottenham in the Premier League later this month, while French midfielder Paul Pogba could also feature for the first time this calendar year.

Rashford admits United must take things slowly as they ease themselves back into action but he can't wait to take to the pitch for what will be the first time in five months.

“I think coming out of this lockdown we are in a much stronger position than we were going into it," the forward told Stretty News.

"I think we just need to take each game as it comes and not get too ahead of ourselves. We are working hard in training, gelling as a team with players coming back from injury, etc.

"For me personally I felt I was having my best season to date before the injury hit so now I’m back fully fit I’m determined to push on.”
