Marcus Rashford issues defiant response to Man Utd's defeat to Arsenal

Marcus Rashford has maintained that Manchester United "always bounce back" from negative results and expects them to do so again.

The Red Devils have copped plenty of criticism following their home defeat at the hands of Arsenal.

It was United's third league defeat in four games at Old Trafford following losses to Crystal Palace and Tottenham.

Rashford and co were hoping to build on their impressive European win over RB Leipzig during the week but were unable to match those performance levels.

The defeat leaves United in 15th place, nine points off leaders Liverpool at this early stage.

But despite the disappointment Rashford is confident that he and his team-mates will come back stronger and get back to winning ways.

“It's been tough,” he told the club's official website.

“Obviously, we've had a lot of big games and games we need to get points in. It's been a bit up and down but it's like that sometimes.

“Like you say, it's been an alright month but, for now, it's all about sticking together and finding a way to win games and really picking up the belief.

“We always bounce back when we don't do so well and I think it's another one of those times. We have to come together as a team, get back to the basics, and win games."

United have a chance to put Sunday's loss behind them as they travel to Turkey to take on Istanbul Basaksehir.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have a 100 per cent record in their Champions League group and can hammer home their advantage with a win.

“As a club, that's our next focus now,” Rashford added.

“We've analysed the Arsenal game and we can't dwell on that for too long, otherwise it will affect our next performance.

"It's important we go there with a fresh mind, a clean slate, play well and win the game.”
