Marcus Rashford is set to miss Manchester United's Europa League tie against AC Milan on Thursday and is a doubt for Sunday's visit of West Ham.
Rashford suffered an ankle injury in United's 2-0 win at Manchester City on Sunday, when he sprinted back into his own half to dispossess Riyad Mahrez.
The United and England striker was forced off with the injury, with boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer conceding he is unlikely to be fit for Milan and potentially the weekend.
“I don't think he will be available for tomorrow,” said Solskjaer.
“He didn't join in training today.
“I think he is out of tomorrow and still a doubt for the weekend.
“But that 60 or 70 yard recovery run showed the hunger, appetite, desire and humility in the team, so it was worth it, but you never like to lose players to injury.”
United announced that John Murtough would be the club's football director and former midfielder Darren Fletcher the technical director in a restructure earlier on Wednesday.
Solskjaer said: “I am very happy we have made this decision and appointment. I’ve known John since I came and it is now more a formal role. He has been working well behind the scenes - he is a cultural fit.
"Very happy with what we have. Continuity and fresh ideas.”
“A few months back when we were making a final decision there were other things in pipeline for Fletcher.
“One thing I was sure of was we couldn’t lose Darren. He has got fresh ideas. He has a bright eye for football a really keen eye.
“Now a little bit less coaching and more influence on the other side. Go speak to players and sell Man United as the club he knows.”
