Marcus Rashford identifies Bruno Fernandes trait 'rubbing off' on Man Utd teammates

Marcus Rashford has explained how Bruno Fernandes' work ethic is already rubbing off on his Man Utd teammates.

The Portuguese midfielder has made a startling impact at Old Trafford since his transfer in January.

Fernandes is yet to taste defeat in a United shirt and has played a crucial role in much of his side's unbeaten run.

His introduction came at a much-needed time, particularly in the absence of the injured Rashford, who has been impressed with Fernandes' qualities from the sidelines.

Speaking on an Instagram Live Q&A, Rashford told Bleacher Report: "He's a player that's creative, very forward thinking. Always wants to play forward and create opportunities.

"Hopefully we can make some good times together.

"He's got such a positive attitude and the vibe he brings to the team is just positive.

"Even if he loses the ball he works to get back and that definitely rubs off on other players."

Fernandes has been especially productive at the business end of the field, scoring three goals and providing four assists in nine appearances across all competitions.

The first of his goals for United came in the 3-0 win over Watford, where Hornets defender Craig Cathcart was unfortunate to be on the opposing side.

"I think we were all impressed," Cathcart said.

"The thing that impressed me most was that he always looks forward. He always gets the ball and his first thought is to pass forward and create chances, which maybe they [United] were missing before.

"He's brought that bit of quality and cutting edge to the final third and since he's come in their performances have been much better, from what I've seen."

Fernandes is already being hailed as a future United great, with club legend Paul Scholes one of the latest to offer his thoughts on the 25-year-old.

“He’s brought a lifeless attacking team to life,” Scholes told BT Sport. "He’s made a team that wasn’t all that watchable at times very watchable.

“His creativity, his awareness on the pitch… before the ball comes he knows what’s happening. More often than not he makes the right pass. He’s sensational.

“You look at your [Eric] Cantonas, your Wayne Rooneys, these people who are idolised by the fans, you hope that in future he can become a player just as good as them.

“Sometimes it can take one player to make a team click and he looks like that player."
