Marcus Rashford hailed as "a gent" for rescuing Aston Villa Women's star on night out

Marcus Rashford came to the rescue of Aston Villa Women star Alisha Lehmann after he invited her to his VIP section on a night out.

Lehmann, 24, was at Chinawhite Manchester earlier this month when the Swiss international was reportedly mobbed by a number of fans as she entered the nightclub. However, Manchester United forward Rashford acted swiftly and asked staff to usher her to his VIP room with him and his friends instead.

A source told The Sun : "It was the first time they'd met but he knew who Alisha was. They exchanged a few words and she thanked him then they carried on partying with their separate sets of friends. She thought he was a gent."

Lehmann, who boasts 13 million followers on Instagram, recently had a relationship with Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz. However, they split earlier this year.

In February, rumours circulated over a potential romance with Petros Tsitsipas when the Tennis ace commented on one of Lehmann's social media posts. An upload on Instagram showed a series of snaps with Lehmann equipped with a tennis racquet to try "something different" in her training schedule.

Tsitispas wasted no time before replying: "Let's play mixed?" The Greek up-and-comer may be two years Lehmann's junior, but that didn't deter him in his pursuit. Lehmann took a couple of days to send a message back and said: "Let's go," along with a crying-with-laughter emoji.

Two weeks later, Stefanos Tsitispas, brother of Petros, sent a special gift to Lehmann after the pair agreed to play a mixed doubles' match. Stefanos, who lost to Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open final in January, sent Lehmann a signed Wilson racquet in the post.

On the football pitch, Lehmann's Villa are flying in the Women's Super League so far this season. They currently sit fifth, having won nine of their 19 league matches. Lehmann has scored three goals and provided two assists for Villa this term, and won Man of the Match in a recent 5-0 win over Leicester.

As for Rashford, the 25-year-old has been in scintillating form for United this season. He has scored 16 goals and added five assists in the Premier League as the Red Devils chase a Champions League spot.

Rashford was the provider for the Red Devils' winner as they beat Villa 1-0 in a key game in the race for the top-four. They currently sit fourth, seven points ahead of fifth-place Liverpool with a game in hand.
