Marcus Rashford explains why Manchester United have become more ruthless

Marcus Rashford has revealed Manchester United have aimed to improve their attacking transitions following their 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

The England international opened the scoring on the stroke of half-time following a lacklustre opening 45 minutes from United. Rashford found space in the area before sending two Crystal Palace defenders to the ground with a dummy before coolly slotting the ball home.

Palace had a goal ruled out by VAR following the interval after Jordan Ayew was adjudged to have run offside.

United sealed the points shortly after following some excellent build up play when Bruno Fernandes found Rashford with an incisive pass and the winger's one-touch pass from Anthony Martial who buried his ninth goal in 11 games.

Rashford praised his teammate after the game and explained how United have put more emphasis on their build up play in training.

"I am trying to be clever inside the box and find half a yard to get a shot off," Rashford told BT Sport.

"It's the pattern of play that we do before that's the positive. It's what we've been improving on and it's the reason we've been scoring so many goals in the last few games."

He added: "Anthony [Martial] has done a lot work today and makes himself available to receive the ball. He deserved to get a goal. It is always good when your strikers can score."

United can guarantee a top four finish by winning their remaining fixtures against West Ham and Leicester.

Rashford says the players are under no illusions as to how important their upcoming games are.

"Every game for us now a big game, we were scoring goals for fun before Southampton and the last two have been difficult games, we had to work double hard to win today," he said.

"We have to go and win every game, that has been the goal for the past few weeks but today has been good to refocus."
