Marcus Rashford explains what Manchester United need to do to become title challengers

Marcus Rashford insists Manchester United have to find more consistency between their home and away form to maintain a title challenge this season.

The forward scored twice in the 3-2 win at Sheffield United in what was a sixth successive away win in the Premier League for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

They've won just once in the league at Old Trafford, however, and although they would be second if they won their game in hand away at Burnley Rashford knows the home form has to improve to be title challengers.

"It sounds simple, the difficulty is doing it, it’s something we have to put right, we have to perform better at home, pick up more points. We take it one game at a time and try to pick up points," he told Amazon.

"It’s early in the season, there’s a lot of football to be played, there will be ups and downs for everyone, we need to find consistency at home and we’ll see where we are at the end of the season."

Rashford's double took him to 12 goals for the season for United and he relished rekindling his partnership with Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood, with the three forwards causing the Blades no end of problems.

"We have the potential to rotate a lot and that type of free-flowing football is what we enjoy. We have to do as well as we can with the team the manager picks, that's our job as players," he said.

Rashford's second capped off a fine team move but he was also indebted to Michael Oliver playing advantage when Paul Pogba was hacked down in the centre circle.

"He played advantage and in the end that’s probably why we get the goal, it is a foul earlier in the play," he said. From there it’s about reactions and passes, when we play one-touch like that we can do that to any team."
