Marcus Rashford discusses Man Utd moment he is most proud of

Marcus Rashford admits nothing has been able to compare to his first goal for Manchester United.

The striker received a late call-up to the first team for a Europa League tie against Midtjylland in 2016.

Rashford seized his opportunity, scoring twice at Old Trafford before being given another start three days later against Arsenal when he again grabbed a brace.

But when pushed for his greatest moment in a United shirt he confessed scoring for the first time has not been matched.

“You know, every other goal after that, it's not quite the same as that first goal,“ the 22-year-old told United's official website.

“I just felt grateful, really, to have the opportunity to play for the club and to be able to score goals like the one on my debut.”

Louis van Gaal was the manager who gave Rashford his chance in the first team.

The Dutchman arrived in Manchester with a glittering CV but was unable to produce the goods on a regular basis.

He did win the FA Cup in his last game in charge however with Rashford starting the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace.

And having started the season in the FA Youth Cup the Englishman admits it was a "standout moment".

“There's obviously a few moments. I'd say the FA Cup final, when we won it in 2016 [against Crystal Palace]. That was one of the standout moments, because it was the first trophy,” he added.

“I actually joined the campaign sort of midway through the FA Cup, so it was nice. I started the season in the Youth Cup and finished it by winning the FA Cup. So it was a nice feeling.”

Rashford has become United's first choice striker and scored 64 goals since bursting onto the scene.
