Marcus Rashford answers strange question about Roy Keane and Bruno Fernandes

Marcus Rashford believes that his Manchester United teammate Bruno Fernandes would defeat club legend Roy Keane in a rap battle.

Rashford was asked the bizarre questions while receiving the Football Writers' Association annual tribute award for outstanding services to the game.

Keane has kept himself in the public eye in recent years and is quite the performer while on punditry duty, however Rashford reckons Fernandes would have him beat if the pair ever came to blows in an 8-mile-esque face-off.

"Bruno!" Rashford replied when asked. "No reason. I have never really met Roy Keane to be honest, so I have to go with my friend!"

Things quickly turned back to football and Rashford was then asked if Fernandes had become the new Keane at Old Trafford.

The Portuguese is approaching his one-year anniversary at United and he has been the catalyst for a massive transformation in style and results.

When Fernandes arrived in Manchester, United were 30 points behind leaders Liverpool and 12 months later they are now three points ahead of the reigning champions going into the fixture at Anfield on Sunday.

The impact Fernandes has made, with 19 goals and 14 assists is clear, but Rashford is hesitant to compare him to the former captain.

"I am not too sure," he said when asked if Fernandes was the current team's own version of Keane.

"We have a lot of strong characters. But it is tough to really compare him to someone like that, because I was never really around Roy Keane.

"But I believe that leaders come in different ways. In the squad at the moment, we have people who are leading in different ways, which is important for us.

"Also we are at a good age as well, so in terms of the future we can look to try to do something good over a period of time, that is the ultimate aim, sustained success."
