Marcus Rashford and Manchester United players arrive at Carrington ahead of Liverpool FC fixture

Marcus Rashford was driven into Manchester United's training ground for a second successive day amid serious doubts over his fitness ahead of Sunday's trip to Anfield.

Rashford aggravated a back issue after coming off the bench in United's win over Wolves on Tuesday night and is likely to miss the game against Liverpool.

Rashford has experienced problems with his back since he was a youngster at the club and uses a bone-healing device to manage the issue.

"I can't tell you now," Solskjaer said on Friday when asked whether Rashford would be fit to face Liverpool. "As I said with Harry [Maguire] a few weeks ago, of course we're going to give him the absolute amount of time to find out.

"We'll do some more checks and treatment with him today, yesterday, of course, was just a recovery day and some treatment for him. I've not see him this morning.

"I'm not going to hold my breath. I would probably think he wouldn't be ready but let's see. It's 48 hours [away], more than that, so let's see."

Scott McTominay, Luke Shaw, Eric Bailly, Marcos Rojo and Timothy Fosu-Mensah were also pictured arriving at Carrington two days before the Liverpool game.

McTominay remains sidelined with a knee injury, while Shaw is a major doubt due to a tight hamstring. Bailly and Fosu-Mensah haven't featured for United this season, while Rojo hasn't played for United since November. There is an outside chance the Argentine will be sold this month.

Paul Pogba and Axel Tuanzebe will miss the trip to Anfield with ankle and thigh injuries respectively.
