Marcus Rashford 'agrees new big-money deal' to stay at Man Utd

Marcus Rashford has reportedly penned a new contract with Manchester United which could be worth up to £300,000-a-week.

It was recently reported that Rashford, who has been linked with a move to Barcelona , was fresh terms with the Premier League giants.

And the Telegraph now report that the England striker has signed a four-year-deal, which could be confirmed as early as Monday.

According to the publication, the striker's new deal will keep him at Old Trafford until June 2023 and contains the option of a fifth year.

Although the full value of the contract is believed to depend on incentives based on his performance, it is claimed that the 21-year-old could earn as much as £300,000-a-week if all targets are met.

That sum would see him join the likes of Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez as one of the club's highest earners, although it is said that his wages will not be as high as the Chilean's.

It represents a significant boost for Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who has reportedly identified the Red Devils youngster as one of the players he wants to build his team around.

Rashford was a regular under the Norwegian last season, scoring 13 goals and providing nine assists in his 47 appearances in all competitions.

It is expected that United will formally announce the news prior to embarking on their pre-season tour of Australia on July 8.

Solskjaer is still looking to improve his squad after United finished sixth in last season's Premier League and failed to qualify for the Champions League.

He has already signed Wales winger Daniel James from Swansea and defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Right-back Wan-Bissaka was confirmed as the Red Devils' second signing of the summer on Saturday as he completed his £50m transfer from Crystal Palace .

The England Under-21 international signed a five-year deal with the club believed to be worth around £80,000-a-week.

James is due to report for pre-season training with the majority of Solskjaer's squad on Monday, while Wan-Bissaka has been granted a short holiday after featuring in the under-21 European Championships with England.

United are keen on adding two midfielders and another defender to their ranks before their season curtain raiser against Chelsea , and have pinpointed Newcastle's Sean Longstaff, Sporting Lisbon's Bruno Fernandes and Leicester's Harry Maguire as primary targets.
