Marcus Rashford has agreed a new four year contract at Manchester United.
Rashford, 21, will now finally put pen to paper on the £200,000-a-week deal to give United a major boost ahead of their pre-season tour and the new season.
The deal will take him up to 2023 but will also have an option for a further 12 months after contract talks reached fruition at the back end of last week.
United had been putting pressure on Rashford to sign as his existing deal was due to expire in 2020 and, even though the new contract will include add-ons and incentives, they will feel it is an excellent deal for the club.
Rashford had been pushing for more than £300,000-a-week because Alexis Sanchez is on over £500,000-a-week while other big stars like David de Gea have been demanding parity.
United tying down Rashford is also a huge thumbs up for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who played the England star as a central forward during the run-in last term.
Romelu Lukaku could leave Old Trafford this summer with his future uncertain while Paul Pogba has publicly admitted he could also go in search for a “new challenge” though United do not want to sell the France World Cup winner.
Manchester United's players were back in pre-season training on Monday, with the rest of the squad set to report back to Carrington this week.
Lukaku was among them as he continues to be eyed by Antonio Conte for a move to Italian giants Inter Milan.
Solskjaer is set to switch his attention to a central defender and central midfielder after finally completing the £50m signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace.
