Marcus Morris is looking to ‘bring some soul back’ to the Celtics

Throughout the Boston Celtics’ ups and downs in the 2018-19 season, multiple players have tried to step forward as the team’s “leader.” Some have actually proclaimed themselves a leader, while others have actually behaved like a leader.

For the most part, Marcus Morris has carried himself as one of the team’s leaders. He was there for the young guys around the trade deadline, he’s called the team out — not individuals — when necessary, but is still the first person to say this Celtics group will clean things up.

On Thursday night, he took to Twitter to let fans know the team will get it together.

He doubled down on his tweet at Friday’s shootaround prior to the Celtics game against the Washington Wizards during unscheduled media availability that he elected to hold.

I don’t tweet a lot. And I really meant it. We gonna get this (expletive) together. We owe each other to play better, man. This opportunity that we’ve got, with this amount of talent that we got, man, we gotta get it together and we deserve to get it together.

Morris further explained his goal by expressing he intends to “bring some soul back” to the team. Safe to say at least one Celtics player hasn’t completely given up yet.
