Marcus Maye gives up his jersey number for Le’Veon Bell

Marcus Maye has given up his number for Le’Veon Bell.

After wearing No. 26 for the first two seasons of his career, Maye has decided to give Bell the number. The running back has worn No. 26 for his entire NFL career.

Maye will return to his old college number, 20. Maye wore No. 20 throughout his entire college career at the University of Florida. Despite the change in number, Maye doesn’t seem to have any issue on it based on his Twitter post on Monday.

Typically, when a player asks another player for their number, they usually make some sort of exchange. It is unknown if Bell had to give Maye a gift in order to get his number back, but based on Bell’s contract, he has enough money to get Maye something.
