Buddies defender Marcus Fraser is close to deciding on his future with St Mirren.
Many Saints fans are nervously awaiting news of Fraser penning a new deal with the club, with his contract set to expire in the summer.
The influential defender has been a mainstay in Jim Goodwin’s defence this season after signing a one-year deal last summer, and the 26-year-old has now hinted a resolution is close to being sealed.
Goodwin revealed yesterday that negotiations were "going well" with the ex-Staggie, and Fraser explained he's been delighted with the amount of game time he's been handed in his debut campaign in Paisley.
Fraser said: “I’m in talks with the club just now. That’s just how it is. Hopefully I can play every game to the end of the season.
“The manager has chosen me in a lot of games this season so, if I can stay in the team and play well, that’s all I want to do.
“I’ve loved my time here, it’s been brilliant. As a player, all you want is to play games.
“That’s where my mind is at. Play well, get a few wins and a decent cup run. That would all be positive for me.
“As for what happens with me then, I’m sure me and the club will take care of that soon.”
Goodwin added: "Marcus has been a really big player for us this season.
"He was out of contract and got released by Ross County and we were really surprised there weren't more teams in for him.
"We were delighted to get him in at that time and negotiations are going well.
"Marcus knows how much I value him, he's been a regular since day one.
"He's in the running for our player of the year. He's been so consistent and his attitude and professionalism is exceptional."
