Marcus Cannon upgraded; Tom Brady, Julian Edelman limited at Patriots practice

The New England Patriots had 10 limited players on Wednesday ahead of Week 3 action against the Buffalo Bills.

Quarterback Tom Brady (calf), receiver Julian Edelman (chest), guard Joe Thuney (shoulder), linebacker Dont’a Hightower, tackle Marshall Newhouse (illness), defensive end Michael Bennett (shoulder), running back Rex Burkhead (foot), Nate Ebner (groin), Ryan Izzo (calf) and Matt LaCosse (ankle). Starting right tackle Marcus Cannon was upgraded to a full participant.

Brady discussed his limitations during a press conference on Wednesday.

“Football is a contact sport,” Brady said. “I wouldn’t say I’m a spring chicken anymore. I’m trying to just feel as great as I can and we’ll see how it goes tomorrow. But I feel pretty good.”

Brady was on the injury report with a calf issue issue earlier this season. And while the Patriots added quarterback Cody Kessler on Wednesday, Bill Belichick said it was not correlated to Brady’s limitations.
