Marcus Cannon in; RB James White, TE Matt LaCosse out for Week 3 vs. Jets

The New England Patriots will get their starting right tackle back after Marcus Cannon missed Week 2. It’s relief for New England, whiuch had to play their third- and fourth-string tackles last week after Isaiah Wynn suffered a toe injury, which landed him on injured reserve. Cannon should start at right tackle with Marshall Newhouse on the left.

The Patriots will be without running back James White, tight end Matt LaCosse, fullback James Develin, linebacker Shilique Calhoun, safety Nate Ebner and offensive linemen Korey Cunningham and Caleb Benenoch.

White will miss the game due to the birth of his child. LaCosse (ankle) leaves Ryan Izzo as the only active tight end. In response to Develin’s neck injury, the Patriots promoted fullback Jakob Johnson to the 53-man roster on Saturday — and to the game day roster on Sunday. Rookie cornerback Joejuan Williams will make his NFL debut.

Here’s a look at the Jets’ inactives, which includes quarterback Sam Darnold, linebacker C.J. Mosley, receiver Demaryius Thomas and defensive lineman Quinnen Williams, among others.
