Marcos Rojo urges Manchester United to grant transfer wish

Marcos Rojo has urged Manchester United to extend his current loan spell at boyhood club Estudiantes.

The Argentina international returned to his homeland in the January transfer window after agreeing on a loan move until the end of the season.

However, Rojo has made just one appearance for Estudiantes following an injury lay-off and has now seen the football season suspended amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

It remains to be seen if Rojo will ever get to play for his childhood team again, and now he has urged Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to extend his current loan away from United.

"If it depends on me, I will speak to Manchester United's management about the possibility of staying here for another six months," Rojo told local radio programme Estudiantes Y Su Gente.

"I will feel a tremendous sense of pain if I have to leave after playing in so few matches.

"I am completely recovered now, and fit to play once more."

Rojo isn't the only one hoping his transfer wish is granted either, with former Liverpool midfielder and current Estudiantes captain Javier Mascherano leading the calls for United to listen.

"Marcos, I want to believe that you will sign a contract extension," Mascherano wrote on Twitter.
